Twitter might let users archive tweets and remove followers, report says

Twitter is working on a slate of privacy tools aimed at helping users manage their interactions on the platform, according to a Thursday report from Bloomberg.

The tools could include the ability to leave a conversation, hide likes, remove followers and archive older tweets.

The report follows Twitter’s announcement earlier in the week introducing Safety Mode, a feature that can automatically impose a seven-day block on accounts tweeting potentially harmful language. 

In a statement, a Twitter spokesperson said the company is trying out new features based on feedback from a series of global research studies around “people’s perceptions of and needs for privacy.”

“We understand that there’s no one size fits all approach to privacy, so we’re excited to roll out more features and tools to empower people on Twitter to customize their experience,” said the spokesperson, who also noted that testing on some features will begin next week.
